Against the background of a new Amendment to the State Treaty on Gambling and the first state legislation on amusement arcades ordering activity at IMA presented a very mixed picture. By and large, the industry was cautious as far as long-term investments were concerned. Demand for commodities with a depreciable life of up to five years, on the other hand, was noticeably stronger.

The German Industry Association for coin- operated Amusement and Vending Machines (VDAI) has cancelled the IMA 2013. This was decided at the association’s general assembly. The cancellation of the industry's leading trade fair, held for the past few years in Düsseldorf, took place for economic reasons caused solely by federal state policies.
Already for the sixth time IMA, the bowling world takes place in co-operation with the trade magazine Bowling Business: a bowling exhibition of substance, which is an ideal showcase to get in contact with new investors from the amusement machine industry.
Scarcely any gaming centres now serve merely a simple cup of instant or filter coffee. Coffee has now become a major factor in the vending machine market - there are now very few hot drinks machines which offer customers less than a full range of coffee specialities.
