Final Report IMA 2009

Restrained ordering for amusement machines with cash winning options, exhibitors of accessories and equipment for gaming establishments very satisfied, visitor numbers roughly equalling last year’s.

After four trade fair days at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre, the 28th trade fair for amusement and vending machines IMA closes its gates. Following two good years for exhibiting manufacturers of gambling machines with cash winning options, ordering for these core products was restrained this year. In 2006 the general framework conditions for the coin machine sector changed, which lead to a complete exchange of gaming machines on the market. Meanwhile the operators of restaurants and gaming establishments have modernised their facilities to a degree not seen for many years, which naturally affects current orders.

Suppliers of accessories and equipment of gaming establishments were very satisfied. In this segment, there is markedly more movement in the market. The new gambling machines with cash winning options attracted new customers. To ensure competitive success, spending on equipment and service in gaming establishments and their optimisation is stepped up
