By Bus and Tram

The transport company Rheinbahn operates a bus and underground network of more than 14.000km in length.

Its membership in Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr (VRR), a linked transport system, allows for unrestricted travel to the surrounding cities as they all form one tariff zone.

This means you can comfortably and quickly reach the exhibition venue and airport without encountering any traffic jams.

Ways to Düsseldorf

Take the Rheinbahn
Going by Rheinbahn is convenient and inexpensive. Rheinische Bahngesellschaft AG operates six suburban fast train lines, twelve tram and 71 bus lines in Düsseldorf.

It transports more than 525.000 passengers per working day which makes it the largest amongst the 21 partners in the united transport system Verkehrverbund Rhein-Ruhr (VRR).

Düsseldorf's most important interchange Stations are: Düsseldorf Main Station, Jan-Wellem-Platz and Heinrich-Heine-Allee/Wilhelm-Marx-Haus. From these you can conveniently reach almost every destination in and around Düsseldorf.

Tariffs and Tickets
At each stop, you will find easy to read tariff information that informs you of the fare you will have to pay. An alphabetical list structured according to the destinations in and around Düsseldorf indicates the tariff zone for which you need a ticket.

For short distances (up to 1.5km) you only require a short-distance-ticket.

For destinations located within the tariff zones A, B and C there are reasonably priced multiple tickets available.

Highly recommend is the Day Ticket. You may obtain this at the ticket counters, from the ticket machines and from the drivers of trains and busses (except for underground trains). This ticket allows you to use the public transport facilities in the respective tariff zone for the entire day as often as you like. Day tickets are valid for 5 people and cost: for the city centre (Class A), for Düsseldorf and the neighbouring cities (Class B) and for the entire service area of Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr (Class C).

Special Tariffs
The public transport network (VRR Verkehrverbund Rhein-Ruhr) in and around Düsseldorf is very well developed allowing you to comfortably reach the exhibition venue from your hotel by taking the bus or tram.

There are special and cost effective tickets available for most of the exhibitions held in Düsseldorf:
4-day ticket (bus and tram) Tickets with fixed period of validity (bus and tram)

You may buy these tickets from the information counters at the airport, the main station and on the fairground. These tickets are valid for all busses and trams of Verkehrverbund Rhein-Ruhr.
