• "Rheinuferpromenade" - enjoy the Rhine from its most attractive promenade, close to the old town, with a view across Oberkassel and with any number of nice cafés; ideal for a stroll and a drink.
• Burgplatz – Düsseldorf's piazza, with a view across the Rhine
• Rheinturm – for the best view
• Rathaus – historical building dating from 1573, in the old town
• Jan-Wellem equestrian statue – Düsseldorf's oldest monument, on the Marktplatz
• Hofgarten – the most beautiful city centre park
• Karlstadt - city district directly adjoining the old town, featuring mansions, galleries, shops, antique shops, cafés and bars
• Oberkassel – the attractive district on the other side of the Rhine, an enchanting mixture of different styles from neo-Renaissance, neobaroque and neoclassical through to Art Nouveau. And it's always worthwhile exploring the many bars and restaurants
• Harbour - the MedienHafen is gradually evolving into a stylish district for media types, artists and politicians; the modern architecture is varied and worth seeing. Numerous bars and up-market restaurants provide an appropriate setting
• Königsallee – the city's central axis, its name affectionately shortened by locals to "Kö". A magnificent avenue, attracting the global jet-set (a selection of shopping possibilities can be found under "Fashion & Shopping".)
• "Altstadt" (old town) - has made Düsseldorf internationally famous for having the "longest bar in the world" (a selection of bars and restaurants can also be found under "Food & Drink")
